Hydrogeology

Hydrogeology is the branch of geoscience that specializes in studying the occurrence of, quality, quantity and movement of water in soils and rock.  Canada is blessed with a significant amount of the world's fresh water resources, a large portion being groundwater.  As a result, many Canadians are unaware of the fragility of this resource.  While generally renewable, groundwater resources are not infinite and must be shared and protected.

At Oakridge Environmental Ltd., we are keenly aware of the challenges associated with accurately assessing groundwater resources.  We have successfully helped to develop groundwater supplies for rural developments, First Nations and municipalities, including the development of wellhead protection strategies and completion of Groundwater Under Direct Influence of surface water (GUDI) assessments.  In urban settings, we have helped support Low Impact Development (LID) designs, successfully completed water table determinations and contaminant delineations.
